First day :)

After goodbyes, delays and long uncomfortable flights I finally arrived in Buenos Aires. I was welcomed home by the most loving family. They had big smiles, open arms and warm hugs.

Obviously I wasn't looking at the right camera...
The team consisted of my host mom (Analia), my host dad (Miguel) , my brother's girlfriend (Noria) and my Prima (cousin) (Paula).
It was a long drive home from the airpor. My host Dad was trying to find a place to buy merchandise and a place we could eat (THE FOOD WAS SO GOOD!!). I felt like we were only going around in circles for about an hour until we finally figured out where we were going.
My family can only speak very little English and I am nowhere near proficient in Spanish, still communication wasn't as hard as I thought (lots of pointing). I managed to find out that both my brother and his girlfriend are studying law.
We ended up getting home just after 7Pm Argentina time. (If my math is right I believe that is 29 hours of traveling). When we pulled up to the house everyone started pointing and mildly yelling "Casa! Casa! That's your home!" . I automatically thought of my mom's kitchen back home because it is bright orange with a little yellow mixed in. The house is quite large and I have part of 2 floors all to myself. The style of the home seems to me like Europe and Mexico mixed together.
The only thing I'm worried about is the fact that my parents asked me if I wanted to eat probably 6 times already. (I'm going to go home fat I already know it..)
Anyways it's almost 10 o'clock and we are eating again :)
I'll let you know what's going on later.

Argentina here I come!

I am so blessed (and extremely excited) to be embarking on this crazy new adventure called rotary exchange! I am dreading packing the suit cases, (yes Mom! I need to take 2!) and planning to go against what everyone tells me and leave it to the last minute (probably the night before). I realized that if you aren't 5 years old starting to learn a language while going to school, it takes much more time and effort than you may have thought...  I will be living in a town almost double the population of Kamloops (160,000 inhabitants) named San Nicolas. It's about 2 and a half hours north west of Buenos Aires. Here's a link to beautiful pictures of my city : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jPTa2dGBDEc

Can't wait to keep you posted!

Sincerely, a very happy Hannah :)
